The first poster  of  “pk” came out  on  on 31 July 2014. The poster made a controversy where Amir khan posing almost nude with only a transistor covering his private parts. The co-director  of the film is Khan began  who is looking for shooting locations in July 2012. Second  unit  of the film was set to begin in late 2012. The Shooting of the movie was  officially began on 1 February 2013,with the scheduled to occur over a 45-day period. PK started with a 26-days schedule of shooting  in Delhi from 27 September 2013. The song Tharki Chokro  was the first single track which is  released on 8 November 2014, It was sung by Swaroop Khan & the song is picturised on Amir Khan and Sanjoy  Dutt .


The makers revealed the promotional strategy for the movie  by the launch of the second poster. Sanjay Dutt  was  introduced as Bhairav Singh  by the 3rd motion poster.
